Exercising after eating?

I just had a chicken breast, sliced red pepper & 1/4 cup of rice...how long should I wait before working out? (a 25 minute run)?

It changes person to person how you feel after you eat. I'd give it a solid 45 minutes at least.

Personally, I need a good 2-3 hours between eating and running. I'm sure it varies from person to person, but I'm guessing 25 minutes probably isn't enough time.

I can eat and then workout almost immediately (but I often give it 30 minutes before running) unless I eat something sloshy feeling like yogurt or cold cereal, then I need to eat something a little more solid if I don't want to feel sick. I may well be the odd duck though.

I don't wait. I eat and swim all the time. Been doing it for forty years. Haven't had a cramp yet.

    Maybe it's different for runners. I don't run. :)

I think it really depends on you. If I'm going for a run, I have to wait at least an hour after eating (usually more like 2 hours). If I'm going to lift, 30-45 minutes might be okay depending on how big my meal was.
