Exercise ideas need!

I found out today that my little injury that made my fingers numb turned out not to be so little and now I have to see a neurologist and then probably a physical therapist.
My doctor said that basically the only thing I can do is swimming, cause it won't affect my neck. Other than that I believe walking is acceptable... I don't want to loose my tiny muscles I worked so hard on getting nor my current shape so I'm looking for suggestions for some other types of exercises (lifting, jogging, jumping and even yoga or pilates are out :( )

if he said all you can do is swimming, all you can do is swimming. sorry.

but you wont lose your muscles or shape... that just doesnt happen overnight as long as you eat right.. you might lose your endurance but you can get that back.

just take care of yourself and dont make it worse.

i was on swimming and walking for the last two weeks... easing back into the gym after an injury. i know how you feel but if i had listened to my pain in the first place i never would have ended up out of the gym and damaged...

before you do this ask your doctor's opinion because they obviously know more about your situation than i do, but maybe you could do other exercises that swimming in water? like a light aquaerobics class or something that isn't high impact and so doesn't affect your neck

When you see a physical therapist they would be the best person to seek advise from in terms of what exercise would be safe / appropriate for your situation. We don't have enough information to be able to advise you.
