1000 Calories a day???

Hey so i heard less than 1200 calories a day isn't healthy or it will be difficult for me to loose weight?
Although i have been doing this for like a month now maybe a little bit less and have lost so far 6 Kilos(13.3 Pounds).

Whats your guys take on this?
Should I continue what i am doing?
Should i add 200-300 Calories per day to my diet?

    Very unhealthy - even more so for an 18 yo man. :noway:

    I'm 5'2 woman and I eat more than that to lose weight.


    You'll be losing a high % of muscle mass along with some fat - never good.

    Losing weight is only one part of the equation. Achieving good health along with maintaining are the other parts. The goal is to lose weight, achieve good health, and maintain that lifestyle for the rest of your life. My take is you should read the link post above and implement those suggestions into your weight loss plan because 1200 calories is not going to do it for you.

    For a woman, 1200 calories is the minimum.

    You're a man, which inherently requires more calories. You should probably be eating at least 1500 calories, at the very very minimum.

    Exactly...as a 42 YO women I lose on 2k a day...slowly mind you but I still lose...
