I'm starting to lose motivation. I started at 200 lb and I am 5'5" tall. I started using SparkPeople.com to track my food and exercise. I've been trying to lose weight for a month and a half now. After my first week I lost 10 lb and I was really proud of myself. Then nothing. i even did measurements because It just didn't make sense but no change there too. I keep my calories at 1200(it hasn't been easy to eat 1200 all the time. I sometimes have to force myself to eat more to met my goal.) I work out about 5 times a week for about 1.5 hours at a time. I honestly don't see my self giving up on working out and being active because I actually enjoy it. It's the food that I miss and not seeing any change is becoming hard. I gave up so many food i loved. I gave up soda completely. I switch to Myfitnesspal.com because I recently purchased the Garmin Forerunner 15. I not sure what to do and how to stay motivated.

Remind yourself why you want to lose weight. I remember when I first started, I knew I was going on vacation and I wanted to be able to wear a swimsuit without feeling self-conscious. Well I did great, lost around 18 pounds, wore a 2-piece. Then I wanted to lose a few pounds for a concert. Did okay. Lost 3 pounds. Then I kind of hit a place where I wasn't motivated anymore, so I lost track of myself. I was still logging, but not exercising as faithfully. So I just maintained. Then I had to ask myself, did I want to go back to where I was before? Did I want to lose all of that progress? I had to get serious with myself again. I don't know how to explain how to get motivation back, all I can say is look in the mirror and realize that you are important and so is your health and let that try to motivate you.

I have a hard time with motivation as well. One thing: eat more! Your body needs fuel for your workouts. 1200 won't cut it for as much as you work out. Do you log your exercise? MFP is made for you to eat back calories to fuel you. Your body will appreciate it. Good Luck!

Futz1285. You need to eat way more to lose weight! about 1400 cals would be good. and there is no need to workout for 1.5 hours a day. Even professional body builders only workout for an hour a day. If you need any nutrition or fitness advice message me any time! I love helping.
