Fruit & Healthy Fats take me over MFP recommendations...

I'm eating extremely clean but struggling with going WAY over, almost daily on my carbs, sugar & fats from fruit (ups my carbs & sugar levels) and healthy fats (olive oil, nuts etc) and was wondering if it would be best not to log them??? I consulted a trainer at my gym that turned me onto MFP and she suggested not to log the 'natural sugars/carbs & the healthy fats....sure could use some advice please and thank you in advance

It depends on your goals, but I would log everything - not logging them will put you WAY under on calories and/or give an opportunity to overeat.
In my opinion, the most important macro is protein. Apparently you're going way over on the other two and so your protein intake may be a little too low. Maybe you can look into more protein-dense snacks and eat a little less fruit? Just a suggestion.0 -
If you don't agree with the default amounts, switch sugar with something else (maybe fiber) and change your macros to allow more carbs and fats. Basically once you know where your sugar is coming from and are comfortable with it there's no need to log it separate from carbs, as it's included there.
My only concern about changing the macro levels would be that MFP is already kind of low on protein for lots of people, particularly if you are at a low calorie level. Otherwise there's no ideal macro breakdown that fits everyone and nothing magic about MFP's.0 -
I have my goals set to: protein 50% and carbs / fats 25%....I do eat a good amount of protein all day, after a Jay Robb protein shake with organic fruit & coconut oil added for breakfast and lunch, I'm usually at my goal for the day on carbs/ fats, so dinner & evening snack takes me over. I'm losing weight slowly but surely and didn't know if I was being to obsessed with the numbers going in the red...lol0

You should log everything to get an accurate calorie count. No matter how "clean" you eat, you will gain weight eating too many calories.0

I always stay right at my calorie goal and never go over. So ya think as long as I stay good on my calorie intake I shouldn't stress on going in the red zone on fats & carbs/sugar when they come from a healthy source?0

If you know they come from something natural and your trainer suggested you shouldn't track them then you shouldn't worry about them on MFP. Still add them to your diary but who cares if you go over if you know what you're eating is good for you.0
