MFP setup correct?

Hello I just signed up today. I filled out the info, I am 5'9 220 pounds. I'm not very active at the moment due to some back issues that will hopefully be resolved shortly. But I do walk a mile every morning and then mainly sit for the rest of the day. It tells me my goal calories is 1800, does this seem right?
Also unrelated to my calorie counter, should I be watching my carbs? Back when I was 180lbs and I wanted to cut down a bit for a summer so I went on a low carb diet. I lost a few pounds (5-6) but as soon as I stopped I gained the few pounds back. So should I only be counting calories or should I keep an eye on my carbs as well?

Your daily calorie goal will depend on how much weight you want to lose per week. Also, what activity level did you choose?
I know a lot of people are into low-carb diets, but I don't think it makes much difference when it comes to losing weight as long as you stay within your calorie range.

For now I chose 1 lb a week and the lowest activity level. I0

Try researching a little bit about BMR and TDEE and calculating your own individual numbers, then inputting them custom into mfp. The default settings are never good.
