Daily, weekly, or monthly caloric count?

I know mfp sets up daily calorie goals, but would an average work well for weight loss? To be a little more clear, let's say my daily goal is 1500. One day I eat 1200, another day I eat 2300, another day it's 1600, the next 1450, etc etc. However, over the course of a week or month, I still make my goal *average*. Would I be just as successful with weight loss as opposed to consistently making my goal for the entire month? Thanks in advance!

A lot of people calorie cycle, so it would be similar to what you mentioned: 1200 one day, 1800 the next, and so forth. As long as you're meeting your calorie goals for the week then you should be okay
I think I tend to drift toward calorie cycling (not always intentionally) because it fits my lifestyle better than eating a standard 1500 or so per day. There are some days where I might want to go out with my friends, so I'll maybe eat a little less the day before (or after) so that I can enjoy myself when I'm out0
