why would I need strength training for ?

without "for" :embarassed: typo

I am thinking about this "Strength training is important for weight loss because it increases muscle mass (lean body mass)" and also about this "You can't gain muscle on a calorie deficit"

I can't gain any muscle while trying to lose weight, and the only way I get "leaner" is by losing body fat and keeping my already existing muscle, right ? or can I (considering the first sentence) ?

so, why strength on deficit if it won't lead to any muscle gain or at least repair what the deficit damages ?

If you are eating at a deficit, you can still build muscle. The greater your bodyfat, the higher your ability to add muscle while eating at a deficit. As long as you are getting enough protein in your diet to repair your muscle and help them grow, your body will just use your fat stores for the additional calories that it needs.

This doesn't work so well once you get down to lower percentage body-fat. But, strength training while you are in a deficit limits the amount of muscle amount you will lose when you are in the lower percentages.

In short, you could still gain muscle mass or at worse limit the amount you lose. If you don't, do some strength training you might be losing muscle with the fat.

When you eat at a deficit, you allow for strength, but not growth. This allows you to keep more of the muscle you have and less more of the fat you don't want. If you don't do strength training, you will lose both muscle and fat. And, when you're all done, you'll look flabby. This is called being skinny fat. You look great with clothes on, but not naked. With strength training, you'll look good with clothes on or off.

Doesn't (keeping my muscle) kinda mean I am gaining muscle as it goes away (which a calorie deficit causes) ?
