Ravenous after illness!

So I was sick earlier this week, and had about 3 days where I ate <800 calories. I felt pretty good Tuesday, but omg CRAVED sugar like nothing else (which is highly unusual for me). Ended up about 2300 calories when all was said and done (limit should be 1500). Yesterday I managed to stop closer to 1700. Better, but can't say that wasn't a struggle. Woke up starving again today.

I mean, I guess I have those "extra" calories I missed, but I was hoping to keep those as lost, lol. Gonna force myself to stay at my limit today, but does this happen to anyone else?

On days where I haven't eaten enough (due to being sick, working out a lot, just not feeling hungry), I'm usually extra hungry the next day or two.

I had a stomach bug a couple of months back - I didn't keep anything down for 24 hours (sorry if that's TMI!). My honest opinion is that this isn't the time to worry about your calorie intake, you need to concentrate on getting healthy and listening to what your body wants. Of course you can still do that in moderation - and if you're craving sugar fruit is a good option, but a square or two of chocolate won't hurt either (suck on it to make it last longer!) And don't worry too much about the calories - it'll probably average out but the end of the week!

I think we do eat more for a couple of days but then if we continue I think it gets to be an emotional issue. I think food can have a way of comforting ourselves, helping us to distance ourself from the way things are rather than how we want them to be. I have to remind myself I can get thru stuff without overeating.
