My doctor recommended this site to me and started to use it when my A1c hit 6.9. I figured I needed to start doing something NOW ! This site is easy to use and to follow through out the day and really makes you aware of just how much you are eating. I just started using mapmywalk as well since I am feeling better and figure it is time to increase my activity. Very happy with both of these and feeling much better.

Very anxious to see my doctor next month again :)

    MyFitnessPal changed my life. If you set a calorie goal and stick with it you will lose weight, that simple. I should have done it years ago.

    I really like this app, too. It has made counting calories really easy, and that has helped me to lose 27 lbs. I don't want to do anything to drastic that I know I won't continue. This app with the online community has shown many ways people lose weight, and with the tools they offer to help u design your plan, u get to choose what u want

    I was kind of in the same boat as you. I got started on here because I was put on Metformin so it was all about health and not fitting into my swimsuit or getting ready for a wedding. While those are nice goals, health should be the number one reason. Yes I had to redo my wardrobe but that was an added bonus. My blood sugar is good and I am off the metformin. So welcome and feel free to add me if you like. It works as long as you use it. It is a learning tool. :bigsmile:

    Thanks Walt.... I'd love to get off of Metformin as well and that is my primary goal. My blood sugar has dropped, according to my measurement, so am anxious to see my A1c level next month. Good for you for getting off of it.

    I've seen changes in my wardrobe already as well. Fitting into pants and shirts that I have not fit into for quite a while and that makes me happy.

    Getting into a "healthy" mode if my primary goal.. Am not out to impress anyone at a beach in speedo's... LOL
