Do you count negative calories?

I'm interested in food with negative or with very low net calories. Not because I think that they actually deduct calories, but just to fill myself up if I feel slightly hungry. But lets say you eat spinach. How important would it be to include that in your total caloric intake?

Nothing is negative calories, if you're counting other nutrients besides calories you might as well put it in your diary though, calorie wise it's not that important.

I won't add in tomatoes or lettuce on my sandwich, or other items that are so low in calories, they're not worth the trouble of entering.

I guess since it is your journey than it is your choice whether you log it of not. Me personally I log everything only because if I start to pick and choose what to log that ends up being a slippery slop for me. Also I am trying to be as accurate as possible so that I can more easily track my progress. Which every you choose is right for you IMHO. Good luck.

I try hard to log everything because I want to analyze my nutrition at the end of the day. I'm getting a good vitamin and mineral bang from some of those low calorie items.

And the idea of negative calorie food? Uh, no such thing. All food has calories.

There are a few things I don't log, even though I probably should. I just didn't want it to seem like a drag having to enter every calorie if I know I'm still well within the daily allotment.
Anything with calories below 10 per serving I skip....like lettuce, or pickle slices, mustard, etc.
Some people here are so dedicated I notice they even log calories for vitamins.

You can play around with it and find what works for you. If you're using a bit of onion as a relish, you probably don't need to count it. If you're eating several baked vidalia onions, you should probably count them. In your example of spinach, are we talking about a few leaves of baby spinach on a burger? If so, I wouldn't count it. Are we talking an entire bag of frozen spinach? I count those.

There really is no such thing as a negative calorie food. As for low-calorie foods, well, you might be surprised how the calories can add up.

I don't log my vitamins but I do log my fiber supplement so I can "get credit" for the fiber.

I like to keep track of the vegetables I eat, to make sure I'm getting a good variety, and all foods so I can see what changed if I feel better or worse. The only things I don't log, perhaps because they are used so regularly, but not really sure why not, are coffee, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper. I don't track sodium.

I log everything except black coffee, salt and pepper and the lemon I put in my water. I find, at least for me, that if I let anything else slip, pretty soon I would be adding sugar and ranch dressing to everything and not logging it.

Although spinach is low in calories, it still provides potassium. I would log it but not if it is a tiny leaf on a sandwich.

Only if you eat it while running.

I try to log everything. If not, its a slippery slope (in my opinion) where you'd start not logging other things as well. For me, logging daily is a key part of my success. I'm not saying I'll log forever, but using the phone app is so easy that it wouldn't be a big deal if I did...
