Anybody work in a mall?!

So I have been working at a store in the mall for the past almost four years. In the beginning it was easy to not wind up in the food court during my lunch break- based on where the store was located. A year in and the store I work in moved right next to the food court and i feel like this is the big reason I have had trouble losing weight. I tend to bring snacks and something to eat during my break, and Saturdays I usually get something in the food court as a treat for getting through the week. Also, when a customer comes in eating fries from Mcdonald's or a pretzel, i often forget my lunch in the back and head to the food court. How do you guys fight the food court temptation?! Any tips for cutting the food court out of my life? Thanks

Pack your lunch and leave your money/debit card at home.0

hey girl hey! I work at a mall, and while I'm not directly in the line of vision of the food court I pack my ENTIRE day in there! On a regular work week I work from 10-6, it's a pretty long day, and so I always eat lunch around 12/1 and then I have healthy snacks throughout. Half my diary logs are 500+ cals of snacks because of it! A normal day for me looks like:
Quick grab for breakfast
- banana, oatmeal or greek yogurt
Lunch:
Tuna sandwich
Whole cucumber
Balsamic sauce for the cucumber
Snacks:
- Granola bar (Kashi or Fiber one)
- Carrots
- Grapes
- Blueberries
- Nectarine
- Popcorners chips/half a bag of popcorn (150 calories for that!)
- Greek yogurt & chocolate chips
AND BOOM I prelog everything the night before so there is no room for mistakes! It's a bit easier because the mall I work at is so DEAD all the time so I have more time to focus on food, lol0 -
I worked in a mall when I was in college and yes, the food court was a temptation for sure...especially when most vendors gave 25% discounts to mall store employees. I kind of lucked out that it was inconvenient for me to visit the food court because it was at the opposite end of the mall and my shifts were generally opening or closing, so it wasn't open when I came in or left work...I was a part-timer so I didn't get a real lunch break and usually just ate before or after work (at home). I think treating yourself once a week sounds like a perfect thing to do, honestly, so you don't feel too deprived and can think about which item you really want and then hopefully enjoy it!0
