Buy a scale, or alternatively, measure yourself every 4 weeks or so. I've lost over 60lbs and still don't necessarily see a big change when I look at myself, even though it is obviously there.0

First you don't need a scale, if you are losing weight so that you like the way you look, then judge by the way your clothes fit. Second, don't determine what you eat by this website alone. You should be eating a balanced diet of carbs, fats and proteins, and the more meals you eat a day the better. Another note, not eating enough calories is just as detrimental as eating too many calories in a day. Food gives you energy, it keeps your body going and it should be your biggest tool in losing weight.
Finally, don't expect to see a change immediately, this is my biggest downfall. It takes a lot of time and consistency to be able to notice a difference in yourself. Try taking progress pictures, so that you can se the transition your body is going through because of your diet and exercise. Good luck, and don't give up!0 -
I am convinced the scale is evil, because don't forget as you are exercising you are building muscle and that scale is weighing in that muscle as extra weight. If you feel your pants getting a little looser and having more energy..you are on the right track. Many of my friends have threw in the towel on becoming healthy because of a scale ruining their self confidence and progress. Good luck to you and carry on the good work0

You may be under eating.....1000 cal surplus is very large, considering that MFP has already built in a deficit when it spits out the total cals it recommends. If you have a large amount to lose, you probably don't need to weigh your food, but if its a smaller amount that you may want to invest in a food scale and pay closer attention and log more accurately to ensure that you are not taking in more cals that you think you are. Also, if you are using MFP for any exercise burns, be aware that those values are often overestimated...sometimes by a lot! Hope this helps!0

First off what is your calorie goal? 1000 calories under your goal? You might not even be eating enough.0

Weigh yourself from time to time, and measure yourself from time to time. Eat the calories MFP gives you.0 -
Bodies sometimes "shut down" a little when you don't have enough calories, and you actually might have trouble losing weight. Someone else can explain in more technical terms. Good luck though, you show a lot of determination being 1000 under. Try MEETING your calorie goals, they are set to help you lose weight.0

i do have a lot to lose. my calorie goal is 2650 set to lose 2 lbs a week. i am stuffed at eating the calories i do eat. as far as a scale i have yet to find one that will weigh me. right now all i eat are meat, eggs and cheese. and will be working in veggies in a few weeks. (its the diet im on but its not atkins) i have even gone off this diet and ate "junk" food and was still under calories. ill take photos for a while and see if i can see any changes. this has been a lifelong battle.0

meat egg and cheese? You could be through the roof on your cholestrol. You need to see a dr/dietician asap. 2650 for a 42 female? Are you an athlete?0

no not an altlete just have a LOT to lose. the diet is from a dr but you are only on it for 6 weeks because of the cholesterol. the purpose is to get rid of sugar in your body. because you arent supposed to have artificial sweetener either. i can use stevia though. like i said i am almost to the point of adding veggies back in and i love veggies. normally i am a healthy eater. just cant seem to lose weight. i have been to the dr in the past and everything is normal.0
