    I know when I was breastfeeding my son I was allowed to have 35 points a day instead of 27 so calculate what you get now if it was me I would just add it to your daily intake but log it on a piece of paper your extra calories write it like this

    regular calories for example is 1200
    breastfeeding calories for example 500

    calculate them together and you have 1700 log on computer your regular calories and have a journal of just your extra breastfeeding calories

    Hope this helps you

    All you need to do is go to your food diary and under any meal (my daughter-in-law used her snack entry) click add food and type in breast feeding, select the one you want and MFP deducts it for you. It is super easy to do. You do not need to change any settings or add anything. Just add "breast feeding" to one of your meals each day and you are golden! Enjoy your baby! :-:flowerforyou:

    But its taking 500 calories off me, so ill always be in the negative.

    I want it to plus the 500 calories.

    Wish MFP could do so that your total at the end of the day isnt always mucked up

    You wouldn't want it to show up as positive in your food diary.

    If it showed up positive in the food diary:

    Goal - 1500
    ~~~~~~~~
    breakfast : 325 calories
    +
    snack: 250 calories
    +
    Lunch: 325 calories
    +
    snack: 250
    +
    Dinner: 350 calories
    +
    BF: 500
    Food total: 2000 calories
    MFP Goal: 1500 calories
    Overate by 500 calories
    How it works with being negative:
    Goal - 1500
    ~~~~~~~~
    breakfast : 325 calories
    +
    snack: 250 calories
    +
    Lunch: 325 calories
    +
    snack: 250
    +
    Dinner: 350 calories
    -
    BF: 500

    Food total: 1000 calories
    MFP Goal: 1500 calories
    under-ate by 500 calories

    Alternatively, you could set your daily goal to maintain or to gain 0.5/1lb per week and not worry about logging the calories. For example:
    if you set it to maintain, then you will technically be at a deficit of up to 1lb per week loss (depending on how many calories your body burns during BF)
    if you set it to 0.5lb per week gain, then you will still be at a deficit of up to 0.5lb per week loss
    if you set it to 1lb per week gain, then you should be right around maintenance while BF (providing you actually burn 500 calories while BF)

    Click on:
    my home (left side of the medium blue menu bar at the top of the page)
    goals (in the dark blue menu bar under that one)
    change goals
    custom
    continue

    Add 500 to whatever is in the top box in the left column (net calories),
    then click the green button at the bottom of the page that says "change goals".

    But when you're counting how much you've eaten, ignore net/exercise calories.
    Just pay attention to overall intake.
    If your goal is 1600, eat 1600.
    With nursing, that would increase to 2100.
