Hello Everyone

I have been on here for a while but have not introduced myself. My name is Anita and I am a 38 year old mother of 3, who are 13, 12 and 11. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life especially after I hit my teen years.

10 years ago I even had the gastric bypass had lost 100 lbs with that. But never dealt with my eating habits and why I got so big in the first place. Then when I got my divorce, I turned to the food for comfort again. And last Christmas I found myself right back where I was before I had the surgery. 280 lbs. So embarrassed that I had let myself get back up there and started with my fitness pal Jan 2nd 2014. I started off really well. Then in June I found out that my real dad was dying. 3 weeks later he passed away. So for the passed 2 months I have been off track. I gained 6 lbs back. As of Thursday August 14th, 2014, I decided to make an honest effort to get back on track. So here I am. I have already lost 4 lbs of the 6.

I have a long ways to go. I want to lose a total of 140 lbs by the time I turn 40 which is a year from this Oct. I want to be truly healthy for the first time in my life since I was a kid.

I have a lot of people watching me too. So the pressure is on. But I would love to have more friends on here that will help keep me motivated and going. To get on me when they see me slacking. Will you be willing to do that?

    What keeps you going?
  • Hi Anita, great to see you back, I too went off for a long time but this July marked a year since i had quit smoking, i figured if i have the will power to quit like i did then i can definitely find it in myself to get fit!
I'm not in a rush to lose weight or see results this time (my body takes a long time to realise i'm exercising lol) my new plan is to just keep an eye on my calorie intake so that its not ridiculously high or over every day and my new routine has gone from no exercise to at least 30 mins of whatever i want to do everyday. i get bored too easy and i cant afford the gym so i've turned my house into a gym and i've started running routes around my local area which i can change whenever i like, also i have now committed myself to doing at least 30 mins of yoga everyday on top of my exercise, this helps me to keep flexible and stretch out after my runs, i'm signing up for a 5k for my birthday in october, i've never done anything like that before and i'm really looking forward to it, i've just marked my one month fitness anniversary by doing my brand new 5k route which i was very proud of completing.

I am currently loving that my fitness levels are rising and so i know that in due time my weight will come down with it, but i've made all my pledges known to my facebook friends and they are allowed to hold me to my promises and they have all been really encouraging and in fact i have found that i'm actually inspiring other people to get fit as well!

anyway, its great to see you back and I am so sorry for your loss.

    Big hugs

    Kirsty
