Am I eating too many carbs!?

So OBVIOUSLY none of you are me and can't tell me what I should or shouldn't be doing, but that's the easiest way to ask haha.
Lately, I have felt bloated in my stomach. Like 2 weeks. I'm wondering if maybe it's because I upped my carbs? Now I eat anywhere from 160-200 carbs in the forms of oats for breakfast and quinoa or brown rice for my other main meals. All meals also with fruits and veggies. Personally, do you think I'm eating too many carbs? I'm 5'4" at around 113 pounds, and I don't know what I would substitute out my carbs for!!! I love them. I should also add that I eat about 100g of protein.
Ok, did I end up asking a question!? I sure hope so. I would just like some advice please; I don't want to be 'scared' of carbs unless I'm having too many.

Nope. It's most likely because you've been restricting carbs (you said you upped them) and added more in and: water weight (which goes away over time because the body adjusts)
Same thing happens to me when I have too many "low carb days".
It's just a normal body reaction.
Also there's the possibility your salt intake may have increased, alcohol, TOM, constipation, ect.0 -
thats about the amount i eat per day so IMO it isnt 'too much'.
but if something you're eating is making you bloated i would try cutting things out till you find out what's doing it.0 -
I've had a quick look through your diary and you seem to be hitting your protein / fat / carb goals pretty closely so it looks like you have a pretty well balanced diet. As stated by the PP, bloating could be caused by a number of things.0

I get bloated if I eat too many carbs and it's not because I 'upped' them it's because my body just doesn't respond well to them. Even oats and wholegrains, my middle just swells and I retain water like crazy.
For me 50g to 100g of carbs daily is necessary for losing weigh. I don't subscribe to the low fat, high carb way of eating, it just doesn't work for me.0 -
If your body is changing the way you want, you're fine. Your macros and total calories look okay. The fat is slightly low, but I'm nit picking there.0

Are you not used to that much fiber? Low carb often means low fiber. High carb (with an emphasis on carbs from plants not cake) means more fiber. And it can take the belly a few weeks to adjust.
However, you could also take the new foods out and re-add them one at a time to see if a specific one is giving you grief.0 -
I didn't think about that! I have been eating more fiber lately...0

What would you recommend for fat!? I always struggle with it because I love peanut butter and avocado so I tend to go over. I'm never sure what to set my percentages at...0

1 g of protein / lb of lean mass (minimum)
.4 grams of fat / lb of BW (minimum)
Use the rest for carbs
Try for 25-45 g of fiber / day. (you can ditch tracking sodium and/or sugar)
You can go over on proteins, fats and be fine. Calories in Calories out for cutting / bulking. Good macros will help you keep / build muscle and keep healthy hormone levels.0 -
Thank you, this helps a lot! I always watch sugar scrupulously so it would be relieving not to.0
