So I Want to Lose 10 Pounds in 5-6 Weeks...

So, my two year anniversary with my boyfriend is coming up, and I want to feel better about myself. I have already lost about seven pounds (but have plateaued the past four weeks due to lack of irregular concentration on losing weight.
Anyway, I am 5' 4" and 155 pounds and would love to be down to 145 by September 24. MFP said that, if I have an "active lifestyle" that I only need to eat 1330 calories/day. Does this sound doable? If so, how could I go about this? I'd really, really like to lose at least 8 pounds...
Let me know if you need to ask questions to get a better idea of what I mean here.

I think that's very doable and you should be able to do that with no problem. Just try to not eat many sweets and high carb things such as bagels. Good luck!0

Have you considered going low-carb? I lost 22 lbs in my first six weeks of a LCHF WOE. Do some research to see what you think or send me a friend request or PM if you'd like.
Good luck!0 -
Looking at your diary, I feel like you're under-eating. 1300 calories a day is very low for fat loss, unless you're literally sitting in bed all day. I'd recommend trying this website out:
http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/CalRequire.html
And subtract 20% from the number it gives you. Just put in an averaged out day. So if you do cardio 30 minutes 6x a week, then that's about 0.43 hours a day on average spent doing light exercise (or moderate if you are really pushing yourself a lot). It's just an estimate of your current caloric needs, but it should give you an idea of whether or not your current eating patterns are appropriate for your activity levels.
With that being said, 10lbs is possible in 6 weeks, but don't force it. Eat at a healthy deficit, and weighing your food instead of measuring is much more accurate as well. You might also want to consider increasing your protein, maybe 100g a day at least. I get in 150g a day and once I reach maintenance I may increase that to 160g.0 -
Thanks to everyone who replied to this! I'll definitely look into going into a low-carb diet. Anyone else done this?0

Do you want to eat low carb the rest of your life? Or do you want to gain all the weight back as soon as you start eating more carbs again?
It's doable to lose that much weight if you eat less and exercise without giving up carbs. Get a good scale and check out this thread - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants0 -
Could it be done, yes
For your goals 2lbs/week is pretty aggressive loss.
From what I have seen, putting a time limit on your goals is one of the biggest mistakes people make. Yes, its nice to have something to shoot for, but in two weeks if you are not down a few lbs are you going to quit or keep going?
Set a goal more appropriate for where you are, take your time getting there, and enjoy the ride. Success sometimes takes a few trial and error periods to really get where you want to go.

I'd agree - might be doable in the short term, but 2 lbs a week at your height & weight is pretty aggressive.
A lb a week is probably a more realistic goal (and even that's toward the 'aggressive' end of the spectrum)0
