Hi,
I have hypothyroidism and I know it contributes to weight gain. I also have been on medication that also contributed to weight gain however I told the doctor I wanted off of it. It's a struggle but I hope to be able to lose the weight I have gained. I go up and down. Do you have any suggestions on how to fight the hypothyroid weight gain?

I think medication has to be taken daily and regularly.
regular tests as suggested by doctor0 -
I have hypothyroidism and have lost more weight than I could have imagined this year. I had tried on my own to lose weight and it was such a struggle. I tried running, going to the gym and eating what I thought was healthy.
Last March was the first time I joined an accountability group and I began P90X. It was kind of like a Hail Mary for me since I hadn't had much success on my own. The only time I had seen big numbers drop on the scale was when I was struggling with depression and couldn't eat. Gained all the weight back and more once I recovered.
I decided to do P90X since I never completed it since I bought it 5 years ago! The accountability group I had was a nice group of ladies who were already fit not so overweight like me so I kind of felt out of place, but I got amazing results from eating healthy food, following the meal plan that came with my Beachbody workout.
I met my long term goal to hit the 140"s on the scale!
Even when medication is spot on it still seems harder.
Feel free to add me as a friend, I I would love to have myfitnesspal friends who struggle like I do and can relate to how much harder we have to work.0 -

Yup, I'm hypo and at goal - the leanest I've ever been (5'7.5 and 140lbs). It just takes discipline and the right level of medication. Good luck.0

Hi in Hypo as well. Been at my goal weight of lower 180's since July of 2012. I started my journey at 282 lbs. I eliminated all
all my other meds beyond my hypo pill. I go in every 6 months to my Doc's office to make sure I'm still at the right dose.
Good Luck !!0
