Favorite food substitutions?

For example, at my dining hall, they have french fries, which are super easy to just mindlessly snack on while doing homework or flashcards. But on the salad bar, there are sliced green and red peppers. I still get that finger food feel, a really satisfying crunch, good flavor (sometimes I add lemon juice too) and it is SOOOOO much better for me.
What are your favorite food substitutions that satisfy a niche (like my noshing) and are far healthier?

Bran flakes instead of potato chips. Which is sorta weird, but it saves on fat and gives me some quick fiber.0

I love this idea! I will have to try it.
Closest I can think of is to replace hot dogs at bbq's with chicken sausage. I'll still put it in the bun, so I get the summery feel and don't need to pull out a fork and knife, but I slide it down to the edge with every bite and eat it out the end, never eating the bun.0 -
I really enjoy the sugar-free fat-free jello made with diet orange pop.
I make about 2 batches at once and eat them in one sitting.... only 40 calories and it's a HUGE amount.0
