    My understanding is everything you do burns calories. Even watching TV, it just it doesn't burn as much as getting up and going for a walk! While sleeping you're burning calories, as you are still breathing and heart is still beating these both need energy!

    I read somewhere that studying burns very litlle calories, but get's you more hungry than working out... Beware of the books!
