I love weighing in daily. I don't mind a small gain here and there because the general pattern is downwards.

However, lots of ppl on here get too upset at the numbers and taking a break from the scale helps them focus on eating right and working out without obsessing

Good! Weighing 1 day, the same day every week at the same time is best. Alot of people can't deal with how the scale moves during the week.

I'm sure there is a tape measure waiting for the rebound that you would love to be in a relationship with. Ditch the scale.

I love weighing in daily. It pushes me when I start the day out with a bad weigh in and it pushes me when I have a good weigh in. I know right? silly. But when I am doing good I am motivated to bust my hump a little more and when the scale wags its nasty lil finger at me for having too much to eat the day before I push myself to lose the extra weight so it is a win win situation. sorry you dont like yours but it makes sense. Alot of people are like that.

Amen. You should read the letter I wrote to my on my page. It was NOT nice!

I like weighing in everyday. It's not an addiction to me. It helps me to see a pattern and determine if I need to change things up to keep this going. It has been creeping up on me the past few days though, .2lbs at a time, and I am not happy about that. I worry that I might be eating too much, but I am only eating 1500kcal per day. Then I worry about my exercise and maybe I don't eat enough.

So, i broke up with my scale too. I am now in love with a tape measuere. (Or at least I will be when I buy one!). Because I do notice a difference in my clothes (a tiny one.. at least I THINK I do). So, I am still going to date my evil scale every day, but I will cheat on it with my new tape measure!

Good luck and way to not give up! Here's something that keeps me going when I feel like this:
If you focus on results, you will never see change. If you focus on change, you will see results."

I found when I lost a pound I was happy but when I lost an inch of my belly I was excited.

Its sad to say but when people buy a scale they just bought an awkward shaped doorstopper.
  • I weigh once a week and I have one particular pair of jeans that i try on at random times...don't obsess over the number. See how you're doing by how your clothes fit! It's great when my "fat jeans" are getting bigger and bigger and the button and zipper on my pair of jeans that I want to fit in is starting to gradually get closer to coming together and closing!! Don't beat yourself up! Stay focused on the main thing...getting healthy!! One step at a time!!
  • It's really hard to ignore the number even though I'm aware of the fluctuations. It's so hard. I'm sure you all understand. I hate the tape measure too. I have one and my measurements are never lower than before...and I'm on Day 21!! I've been doing everything right so it's just discouraging. But I won't stop! :D

Good for you. The worse thing you can do is stop.
