I buy Kale by the bushels and pounds and stick it in my freezer...My use for it?? I have a Nutri-Bullet! So good and easily added to ANY shake/smoothie0

you could freeze it, sauteed with garlic later, or just throw the frozen kale in a shake0

Chop it fine and throw it into: scrambled eggs, smoothies, stirfry, salads, soup/stew, or pretty much anything else you're cooking. Most things are improved with a small amount of kale.
In larger quantities as a side dish - try braising on low heat in a small amount of liquid like stock or wine. High heat makes it bitter. I also put larger pieces in with roasted vegetables (califlower or beets) to give them some crunch.0 -
make Kale and Lentil soup. Yummy and healthy.0

I make up freezer bags with kale and berries (or half a banana) for future smoothies and pop them in the freezer. I also use chop it up and freeze to add to future soups, stir fries, or if I am feeling adventurous I make soup that day or spaghetti sauce.
If it is still in good condition, add to salads, sauces, make kale chips.0 -
Our family isn't a huge fan of kale especially raw, I usually add it to soups for extra greens, it wilts nicely and adds all its nutrients without adding too much of its flavour (think soupe toscana I believe from olive garden)0

I use it for smoothies, a spinach substitute, on salads. By the way you can put it in the freezer so it stays fresh. I do this a lot so it wont go bad on me.0

i feed it to my geese0

I just throw kale into a nutribullet with a bunch of other stuff and make smoothies everyday. It's good if you don't like kale but want the benefits because you can't even taste it if you add the right stuff0

chop and steam then stir it into mashed potatoes. I grew up on that stuff, so I love it, but it may be an acquired taste.0

We essentially got the same result as people saying to freeze it, but actually by dehydrating it... Once it gets nice and dried out, just blend it and you can use it in anything... we sprinkle it on our eggs in the morning, in our smoothies, in just about anything. The only disclaimer I give you is that... when you are drying it, it smells really bad, so do it while you can have windows open and air moving! But once it is dried out, put through the blender, and in a spice container, it is very handy to sprinkle on anything!0

Im not a fan of raw kale because of the texture but this salad is yummy and it softens it up just a bit.
2 cups kale
** In separate bowl
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon honey
pinch of garlic, salt pepper
Shake dressing and pour over chopped kale. I add raisins and apple :happy:0 -
Feed it to the neighbors dog you do not like ... that stuff is gross.0

Haha, wow, I did not expect so many responses so quickly! ^_^Chop it fine and throw it into: scrambled eggs, smoothies, stirfry, salads, soup/stew, or pretty much anything else you're cooking. Most things are improved with a small amount of kale.

This is very useful information. I love kale normally, but it's turned out bitter the past couple of times I've cooked it and I guess that's why I was kind of put off.
Anyway, I'm currently happily chowing down on a large bowl of kale chips... ^_^ But I'm definitely keeping this thread bookmarked because there's so much stuff I want to try here. Thanks for all your input!0 -
Freeze to add to protein shakes and smoothies!0

Kale chips! http://allrecipes.com/recipe/baked-kale-chips/ I use PAM instead of olive oil.
Kale chips are delicious. I use olive oil, bit of vinegar and seasonings of choice (I like salt, pepper, garlic powder)
Personally, I would stick to using healthy fat (olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, ghee, etc), not PAM. Gag.0 -
I use Kale in smoothies. Try 1 banana, 5 strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries, 4 large ice cubes, 1/8 cup almond milk, and as much kale as you can stuff in there while its still liquid. Sweet, tart, and filling!0
