Wanted to say hi and glad to be part of the community. I have tried off and on to lose weight for 2 years now. Every time I try I would give in and end up gaining more. I have neurocardiogenic syncope, RA, and Fibro and after years of doing nothing I became so weak I couldn't even get off the couch without help. It was after struggling showering and getting up I decided something had to change. I started working out 5 days a week at my local YMCA and also started doing squat challenges which after two weeks I can climb stairs and get up fine on my own.

Hi! well done you!
It is funny how your body naturally adjust to the limited agility you have. I too noticed I was/am pulling myself out of the couchthen I saw a photo of myself 5 years ago... and about 20K's lighter... and thought I want to be her again!
So I have started walking again. ` have noticed fitness level improving... still pulling out of couchbut it's early days yet.
This Ap is very helpful and encouraging. (I use it with Endomondo' which counts the cals I burn as i walk, and instantly adds it to my daily quota)

Congratulations, it is tough and I think most people finally hit that area where enough is enough and something changes in them to make them want to change. The only reason I am even able to get off the couch is because of the squat challenge. Within two weeks of doing it my legs are no longer stiff and heavy feeling. I live in a townhouse and my bedroom and main back is upstairs. Took forever walking up them, now three weeks later I can walk up normally. But when I started the challenge, I had to break every 10 and sit down for a few moment ever 30 squats. And while I did them I had to hold onto something. Now three weeks later I am doing 60 before having to sit, but that is due to heart issues. And can do 20 before a quick break and no longer having to hold onto anything. Not saying to do them, I am just informing you how I did and, how I managed it so quickly but I needed quicker results.0
