Hi, I'm trying to lose weight to fit in to my dresses for graduation/ prom. It is in 2 weeks time. 26th of August.
I would love to hear from other people about their weight lose for their graduation/ prom or in general.
Best of luck.

You don't indicate how many pounds your are trying to lose by then, but 1 to 1.5 per week is a healthy amount. Just be aware that there are no quick fixes, magic pills, shakes, etc.

My two cents is that you should have thought about this sooner.

Two weeks of SERIOUS dieting might net you 4 pounds. Maybe not even that.

Stop eating salt/sodium and exercise. You will lose a fair amount of water weight and feel better about the dress. But long term it won't help at all. Dieting takes TIME.

Trying to figure this out...you've been on MFP for "awhile"
Youre going to a graduation/prom in Aug :ohwell: ???
It seems youre a little late for that train but since youre on your way to college...right now is a good time to start thinking ahead for what they call the freshman 15.

Am I the only one who read the thread title and saw Graduation/Porn? Boy what a letdown when I clicked on it. But good luck with your weight loss.

  • Thanks for all the comments and I agree that it was late to put up the post but I had been losing weight to fit into the dress for a couple of weeks before I posted this and managed to drop 2 dress sizes, I wanted to bring together and help motivate others to keep going and not give up a couple of weeks before the day!
am also from Ireland so our graduations are all at the end of August or beginning of September! :)

Spanx or other similar garments that will squeeze those last few pounds into the dress can be a lifesaver for trying to fit into a slightly too tight dress.
