Motivation and accountability

I have yo-yo'd with my weight for as long as I can remember but with my first child due in a month I need to get myself to a healthy weight and lifestyle. I don't want to be that dad who is too out of shape to play with my kid(s). I recognize that having other people around to motivate you, offer tips and suggestions etc. and hold you accountable is a positive step in the right direction. That is part of the reason I decided to join and come back to MFP. So anyone care to jump on my wagon and see where this journey will take us? I'm looking for food tips, workout tips, anything really that will help me get from 310lbs to 180lbs.
Cheers!

I too have been a yo yo with my weight all my life. From being very big to being too thin back to being big. I don't know how many tips I have but I could use some support as well. Getting in shape for your kids is a great goal. And I'm sure once the little one arrives there will be plenty to keep you busy and get food out of your mind. Once you make that decision to change your life and commit it's all down hill from there. Keep up the good work.

I sent you a friend request. Congratulations on the new baby. If you make the commitment to help your wife with the baby, you will get in shape quickly. Taking care of a new born is a lot of work. Think of ways you can help her out like cleaning house, cooking healthy meals, doing laundry, running errands, changing diapers, giving baths, etc. You will be so busy helping out that the weight will fall off. I remember being exhausted and lost weight after having my daughter and my ex-husband didn't help out. Best of luck. You have a stong support system here. Best of luck.
