I always weighed in the morning so I could claim my lightest weight. Now I weigh at 4:30 or so because it was weekly with a trainer. And, once I changed my mindset then I like going with the afternoon one.
I just think it is more important to be consistent. Therefore, I weigh same machine, within same hour, same day every week.
(Except this week because the scale was off limits while they are redoing the basketball court, so TRX room closed...lol.)0 -
It would probably be the most consistent. That's when I weigh. Keep in mind weight can fluctuate from one day to the next, too. Whether or not you're retaining water from exercise, excess sodium, lack of bowel movement, , time of the month for ladies all can influence the scale. You're looking for a downward trend over weeks.
And yes, it normal to go up throughout the day, as you're eating and drinking throughout the day. I'm sometimes 5 lbs + up by the end of the day :P0 -
My lowest weight is typically within an hour of waking up. I think the most important thing is to be consistent, same time, same machine, same clothes (or non clothes).0

I hope mine isn't. I lost 2 lbs and I'm trying to bulk! :sad:0 -
Your weight is always going to move and has as much to do with water content as anything throughout the day.
While you sleep, you lose water through exhalation and sweat. Pounds and pounds of it. You are unconscious a LONG time. The lungs are, if healthy, continuously moist. When you breath out, moisture goes out. It's why mirrors fog up when you exhale on them. That's why you are lightest when you first wake up. Add in a morning trip to the potty and voila!
That said, I usually weigh in the morning...because any way I can get that scale number to go down is awesome. I'll count it!
But don't get upset if you weigh often and don't see rapid results. It really is easier to see results over the long haul. If you are very sensitive to the fluctuating number, restrict yourself to weighing once or twice per week.0
