Hi there. Ignorant English person here.
    What is a smore?

A smore is an American campfire novelty food.

    1. Place a square of chocolate on top of a graham cracker.
    2. Roast a marshmallow over fire.
    3. Place hot marshmallow on chocolate and top with another graham cracker.
    4. Eat, and make some-more. S'more

    vegan-campfire-smores-400-6.jpg

Another ignorant Brit here - what is a graham cracker? Some kind of biscuit it appears...

I've been making Smores in the UK since I was a Girl Guide (although back then we called the Sludgies!) and we use Digestive biscuits - to make less mess with the Brownies (I am a Pack Leader now!) I use chocolate digestives - yum!

Just to make everyone's day - did you know you can toast marshmallows over a tea light candle?! It takes a while but it's delicious!
  • Most of these look sooooooooo gross (apart from suchi burrito). Seriously you ppl in America make the worst food!
After watching a couple of episodes of "Man Versus Food", I nearly chucked. I couldn't help but wonder - who the hell eats of this cr@p those restaurants make?

    *waiting for the backlash*

    get out.

Oh my god it's just like slutty brownies. I love slutty brownies.

    IMG_8416.jpg

Cookie on the bottom, oreo in the middle, brownies on top. So heavy calorie wise but dear god I want to eat a whole pan.

Re: Slutty brownies - sub the oreo with a peanut butter cup and it's HEAVEN

You have just rocked my world.

Did I say I like vegemite or show a photo of it as an example of food porn? Or insects? That's reductio ad absurdum.

No. But if you're going to complain about awful food, it should be at least mentioned. Also, it's funny that you think a TV show equals real life.

    Cookie Dough Dip
The Lowdown: You know how eating raw cookie dough is the best thing ever but it's usually done standing alone in your kitchen without pants on (crying optional)? Well, if you pretend that cookie dough is a dip, you can eat it in public! At parties, even! Total game changer.

    Googling recipe

Oh good gravy. My MIL's sister cooks the best kebabs and some other stuff that I can pronounce, but can't spell for the life of me. Shadiya? It's like rice and noodles mixed...dunno, soooo good. And something they call "fah-tee-day"...but I *think* it's fatayer? Again, dunno - like a spanikopita only a doughier crust. Good-Ness! And burghal kebbeh and grape leaves stuffed with yums. Drool.

ETA: and her naan! Goodness gracious her naan! It's like the fluffy butt of a cherub with garlic butter.

Yes! That's exactly it. Is fa-tee-day a different dialect or they just saying it wrong? MY MIL and her sister are Syrian - the first generation born in America and their parents wanted them to learn English so insisted on speaking it in the home...so its entirely possible they are mispronouncing.

I'm so hungry for this now :( The closest we have is a chain - Moby ****s. It's good, but doesn't come close to home cooked.

ETA: Oh my goodness, silly filters. Moby uhm...Moby D-word...?

I know all dialects. Small differences but they come from the core language. They probably mispronounced it as there is definitely an R there

I tried to learn to impress my hubs - he spent some time in that general area and picked up some words/phrases. I tried a CD - it was beyond difficult. Very different from English. Kudos for knowing both so well.

I know how you feel, my language has letters that aren't present in many other languages so if you don't pick it up when you're young its almost impossible to pick it up later. I've yet to see full time translators speak without an accent

Hit me up with a pm if you want to learn some words & beat your husband
