Things I buy every week for lunch and snacks:

greek yogurt - I used to buy the tubs with the intention of portioning them out but that took time I didn't alway have so now I just buy the single serving sizes.

fruit - bananas, apples, berries, nectarines, oranges - whatever's onl sale and/or looks good.

protein bars - these are a good way to get some extra protein and have a yummy treat at the same time. I like Pure Protein chocoalte peanut butter bars - they're not the tastiest (they're ok but clif bars are my fave) but they do have the most protein and least calories and are pretty cheap so...winner

100 cal packs of cocoa or cinnamon roast almonds - they go really well with an apple

other options - snack bars, hard boiled eggs, 100 cal bags of popcorn, craisins/raisins, ghiradelli chocolate squares

My must have lists includes almond milk, light rye bread, greek yogurt, snap peas, baby carrots, single serve oatmeal, apples and cauliflower. Those are my go too foods, then I mix it up with different fruits and veggies that are in season and whatever meats are in season. Oh...and popcorn. That's my main night time snack.

    Good luck and happy shopping!

peanut butter (currently loving Cookie Nookie by PB Crave)
    rice cakes
    apples/berries
    almonds

    oh and greek yogurt!
  • QUEST BARS!!! Easily the healthiest & most "bang for your calorie" protein bar on the market right now. They taste delicious (best flavours I've found: double chocolate chunk, white chocolate raspberry, cookies & cream) and you can throw a couple in your purse or leave some at work for when you're craving something sweet! They are awesome!

    I try to always have:

    Plain Greek yogurt
    Eggs
    Soy Milk
    Almonds
    Quest Bars
    Broccoli

That's pretty much what I live off of. Anything else is just for some variety.

Olives. Right before that time of the month, I crave salt and it is normally the only time I will buy crisps and whatnot. But I can eat a couple large olives and get all the salt I need. The other thing I l always keep on hand is sliced cooked chicken breast. If I am trying not to snack but am really feeling hungry, slowly nibbling one strip with a cup of tea will usually tide me over and the calories are just super-minimal.

i don't eat the same things every week except for breakfast. so i don't have many staples except for breakfast items.
breakfast is usually oatmeal with some kind of fresh fruit topping or a homemade sausage egg and cheese english muffin sandwich.

keeping these different and new helps me stick with it and not get bored.
