Chances of losing weight on Amitriptyline?

Hello Everyone,
I stopped taking Amitriptyline about a year ago. I was taking it for 2 years. I don't believe I was even exercising while taking it. I have gained roughly 30 pounds in 3 years. I started losing weight about a year ago. But now I'm back on it. People say it halts your metabolism, I'm not sure though. Many complain of weight gain.
Anyways - Will I gain weight on Ami. if I continue to exercise daily and eat 1300 calories? I want to lose at least another 25 pounds.
I'm a bit worried. Thanks
- Dee

I don't think it halts your metabolism so much as halts your desire to move. When I was on it, I slept 14 hours a day. I found it difficult to function, much less exercise.0
