In about an hour or so, my family and I are going shopping and I would love to have even more healthy choices in the house. So what do you guys get when you go shopping?

I buy the same things most of the time but I'll switch around certain sauces or seasoning and brands of things from time to time.

I buy things like the following:

    skinless chicken breast
    steak
    burgers (chicken, beef, or salmon)
eggs (usually whole eggs but recently got some liquid egg whites mainly for some recipies I make)
    almond milk (sometimes skim milk)
salads - (pre-mixed and I buy one for every work day to bring with me)
    protein bars
    oats
pancake mix (got organic flax ones this last time, I will make pancakes with them and use for other recipies (protein cakes))
    fish oil
    Kashi Golean Cereal
    cheese
    fresh fruit
    fat free greek yogurt

I'll get a few other odds and ends sometimes but the above is my usual stuff. I also use protein powders.

I find I spend a lot of time in the produce department & usually have a full crisper drawer + some things stashed elsewhere in the fridge. I'll often have several cups of sauteed veggies with 8-10 oz of tofu and 1c of rice or 2 oz of whole wheat pasta (about 1.5 cups cooked).

In general, avoid processed foods, stick to the most natural things you can.
(That being said, yes, one of my fairly frequent dinners is a 50-cal multi-grain tortilla with 2 slices of turkey lunchmeat, a slice of cheese, and some mayo.)

    brown rice
    ground chicken
    chicken breasts
    salmon
tofu (I glom onto any I find in the 99c bin, unless it's soft)
Greek yogurt (add fruit, honey, & some dry oatmeal & you have a dinner)
    cottage cheese
    whole wheat pasta
    beans
    eggs
    whole wheat bread
    peanut butter
    hummus

I really like the frozen Chinese dumplings (gyoza) that can be pan-fried, served w/ peanut sauce.

    my usual breakfast is:
12 oz skim milk + 1 serving Carnation instant breakfast + malted milk powder
1 slice whole wheat bread + 1.5 T peanut butter
    1 banana
