Quick question about BMR and calories

I am looking at my weekly calories burned and my reports, and am curious.

If I add up all 7 days of net calories, then subtract 7 days worth of my body's required calories, then subtract 3500, will this give me an estimated weekly weight loss?

Or am I thinking about this wrong?

Because when I did it I got 1 pound and some small change in loss, which actually was spot on.

Total amount of calories to maintain for a week - Calories Eaten = Deficit calories

Deficit Calories/3500 = estimated weight loss

    example:

    daily maintain = 2300
    (2300*7) - (1800+1400+1900+2100+1650+1780+2400) = 3070
    3070/3500 = 0.877142....

So approx 0.8lb loss for the example week.

Ok! Thank you. That's what I did and even though I really screwed up today, I still have a weekly deficit to lost nearly a pound. Phew!

You can use a weekly formula if you like. Most track daily because it's easier to more closely monitor. Different strokes.

I only wanted to do it because I made a major goof after being really good for two weeks so I needed to see how much this goof wound up hurting. I still have a loss of nearly a pound with it and tomorrow starts day 1 of a new week so it made me feel better
