So I notice that my school has a gym you can work out in afterschol from 3-5. I have become very interested in it, but I don't want to go wrong and start the bad way, as I have read elsewhere. How do I begin? Help please.
Add me for updates!

What are your goals in weight lifting? To build strength?

Why don't you look into StrongLifts? There's a group here for that in the Groups section at the top. Go there and type in StrongLifts. You'll find a ton of info in that group. It's mostly women there too.

Strong Lifts, Starting Strength, New Rules.... They are all great programs to get started.

You want a beginner strength program. Pay particular attention to proper form, and don't forget the progression rules. The key to building strength is progression. Some good programs (several of these were mentioned already):

    New Rules of Lifting
    Strong Curves
    Starting Strength
    Stronglifts 5x5
    all-pro beginner

If you don't know what you're doing, don't try to create your own program. Take one of the proven programs, and follow it to the letter.

    Good luck!
