Running and not losing weight

I have been running for the past 8 years, I'd lost around 10 kgs in1.5 years. I stopped running last year and put on about 8 kgs. I started running everyday again in June this year but I havent seen any difference. I eat healthy, I'm a vegetarian. I feel so demotivated these days but I somehow push myself to run everyday.

Try lifting weights. Changing routines forces the body to adapt to new things. Muscle burns more fat than anything else. Lift as much weight as you can reasonably lift for about 8-10 reps or so. You don't have to do it until your muscles fail, but close enough. You will never be bulky because women don't ever have the testosterone levels to GET bulky. You can add a small amount of weight as you feel it becoming easier. Remember to have variety so your body doesn't become accustomed to one thing. It suffers from inertia too!
If you start weights, try to incorporate some protein, maybe tofu or eggs. If you're suffering from fatigue, try to eat more green leafy vegetables. Found this site on vegan nutrition, parts of it might help: http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/iron.php
Don't stop running if you enjoy it, but throw some weights in for a change Hope this helps! Good luck!0 -
Are you watching your calories? It's oh-so-easy to eat more than you're exercising off, "eating healthy" or no.0

Hello arpitachadha! What are your running workouts comprised of? Pace, distance and variety are key things! You have great discipline after running for 8 years and i am sure that you will see the needle move again.
I have lost more weight by running much more slowly than I can, working in the lower heart rate zones, not running till exhausted, just running easy. I also agree with adding some weight lifting routines, I started with body weight type - pushups, dips and pullups.
Keep it up!0 -
I have been running for 6 years but I only lose weight when I track how much I'm eating and make a conscious effort to eat a bit less - I'd say keep doing what you're doing if you enjoy it, but track your calories too.0

I'm opposite with weight loss with running- I have to push it very hard for at least a couple of runs per week to lose weight, then stay slow and steady the other days. I'm also very careful eating back calories. I don't know if my calculators overestimate my burn or not, but I only ever eat back 1/2 at the most. Good luck!0 -
Running, being a vegetarian, and eating "healthy" (whatever that means), all together or by themselves, are not the key to weightloss. They might be enablers, but you need to log your food to see what is going in and what is coming out.0

Yeah I would definitely try to incorporate something new into your routine get some strength training and maybe a day or two of HIIT in it really helps your body when you change your routine. Also definitely keep track of your calorie intake and see if you are eating enough or too much it can make a world of difference, just because your eating healthy doesn't mean your eating the right amount in terms of calories.0

^This. I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't eat a lot of meat/animal products in general. However even without eating packaged foods I could easily overeat if I weren't paying attention to my intake.
Running definitely does you good, but it's your calorie intake that's going to make the difference.
Best wishes to you!0 -

QFT.
I am also a vegetarian. I run and lift weights. Take measurements. Also measure everything you eat with a food scale. Make sure you are eating what you think.
