How to know if I'm bulking right way?

Options
Hi! I'm trying to gain weight (bulking) slowly to build muscles, so I'm pretty much eating around my TDEE and sometimes at surplus... However, I just started doing this like less than a week, and I felt pretty bloated and gotten a little heavier already. How am I suppose to know I'm not gaining fat faster than gaining muscles? ( I understand gaining fat is inevitable when bulking, but I don't want fat to come faster than muscles!).
I eat clean, filling up macronutrients 40/30/30 ratio.

Short answer- if you're gaining and lifting- your bulking.

    But long answer:
small surplus around 250-400 is where you're looking.

First week or two you get big jump- 5-7 pounds- mostly water glycogen.

Then after that should be a slow and painful trend line upwards.

If you're gaining to fast- eat less
if you aren't gainging- eat more.

^What JoRocka said. It can be good to go for about a half a pound a week or so.
