Completed 10k training and amazed at the time!

I feel like a success.. not on the scale, the scale is being evil! but in reaching my goal of finishing a 10k and exceeding any expectations I had for myself in how fast I ran it.
Yesterday was "race day", the last day of the 10k training program. It was just me though, not a proper race. It was an awesome day to run, cloudy and a tiny bit wet with a really slow wind, warm but not too warm. I got my hubby to join me on his bike, and it helped allot in keeping up the pace.
I started off fast and my times..: best 1 km (05:10), 1 mile (08:49), 5 km (29:53), and 10km (01:01:32).
I am amazed! ..and I wouldnt believe the times, if my hubby hadnt been there to confirm that they are correct and I didnt imagine things. This isnt an official time in that its just me running and counting on my Nike+ app to count the distance properly. Hubby's runkeeper disagreede slightly, difference between them was 400m so maybe the 10k was in 01:04 instead (I did run to where hubby stopped just in case :P ).. and even if so I am still super happy with that! Completing a 10k for the first time running at "race pace" in less than 65minutes I think I dont need to be ashamed of that.
It was a 8 week training program for 10k.. completed c25k a few times before since I started training three years ago, but always had to take breaks inbetween for various reasons. I still havent taken part in a race of any kind.. last race of any kind I took part in I was maybe 14years old! There was a plan to take part in one this summer but then I had to stop training in april and didnt get back to it till June.. so plan is next year instead. I hope.

Wow! Well done. I finished the C25k app at the end of May and have been mostly working on my speed since then, but you’ve made me want to try a 10k! Usually by the end of a 5k I am so beat that I can’t imagine continuing on, especially when I’m pushing for a fast speed. Very inspiring!0

Well done finishing c25k! They say speed comes with more distance, so try the 10k training.. just set aside time for longer sessions0 -

Absolutely fantastic! I'm not doing a training program, but have been working my way up to running 10K all at once. currently running 5K twice a week, then a long run on Saturdays. Your times are amazing. You rock!0

Congrats you should compete in a timed 10k. I bet you will do better my practice times are never near as good as my race times. I guess it is my competitive nature.
