Beginner Runner... NEED HELP!

Hello,

I just started using the app called "10K Trainer FREE - Run for PINK" to help me run and so far so good! I'm only on my second week so I got a long way to go. As far as my physical activity goes, I only run MWF for 30 mins. I currently weigh 200+ something. I was wondering....

What other exercises can I do to help strengthen the muscles that I need for running?

Especially core. You would be surprised how much that will help you with your form and avoiding injury. i also highly recommend a good, strength based yoga program.

In addition to the exercises mentioned above, don't neglect medius gluteus exercises (side step lunges, clamshells, side leg raises etc.) or oblique (side plank)

Running is great, isn't it?! I started a c25k app also to improve my running skills and I started at 300+ lbs. I also do HIIT exercises like Insanity and HASfit vid's on you tube specifically HASfit Warrior workout which has 3 parts to it, however you will need to warm up before and cool down after as it goes right into the workout. I really enjoy that type of full body high intensity workouts. I"m in the 280's now so it's been work for sure. Hope you find something that suits you well. Good luck on your journey!
