I need ideas on how to season fish. We have talapia and ive been doing a lemon and pepper seasoning but im bored.
Also my husband hates fish so hes been having pizza or the similar on my fish nights. Now he wants to eat healthy with me so I need ideas on something simple I can make him meat wise.
I hate cooking two meals so the easier the better

I don't like salmon, my husband won't eat steak. All 4 kids will eat salmon, 3 will eat steak. So I tend to grill those two items on the same night. It's not really harder than cooking just one or the other. Otherwise our house tends to be "I cooked it, you eat it or be hungry" lol.0

Before I developed an allergy to avocado I used to love baking tilapia and putting diced avocado and mango salsa on it. Oh man was that so good! Incidentally, the avocado and mango salsa also tasted excellent on chicken breast so you could bake him one of those while you eat the tilapia.0

My husband doesn't eat fish either, so on nights where I have it, I have my fish fillet, he has a steak, or a pork steak. Cooked the same way, all the same sides, just different protein.
I like to cook white with with jullienned carrot, celery and some bok choy, spread with some laksa paste. make a foil package and bake it - absolutely delicious!0 -
Maybe do foIL packets? Put a chicken portion in one aND a fish in the other. Toss in the same veggies in both packets. Kraft makes a great asian toasted sesame seed salad dressing that I like to put on my fish before baking. They do have a reduced calorie version, I can only find it at Walmart though. So now I can't get it anymore, because I don't shop the mart.0

How about blackened tilapia? Just throw a dry rub together and pan fry it in a cast-iron skillet. Super easy and quite a bit different from the way you're making fish.0

Nope! That was it! You can grill or bake, whichever suits you.0 -
My dad used to make salmon with lemon and herbs and honestly I didn't love it.
I much prefer keeping it plain, or using salt + pepper, or maybe even adding celery seed and/or ground mustard (I love eating cold salmon with celery and honey mustard).
Otherwise, maybe he just doesn't like most fish, so if there's a fish he likes then buy that. I so far only like salmon and trout. Tried a few others, don't like them.
Otherwise... he does't need to eat what you eat.0 -

Lots of great ideas here!
For salmon, I like spreading the steak with brown sugar and dotting it with bits of butter (a little goes a long way for both), then a bit of Sriracha. Then roast in the oven - sweet and spicy! You probably don't need the butter and I might skip that ingredient next time.
Other fish, I am really crazy about fresh lemon. I'm also not shy with the salt with fish, since I generally don't eat too much packaged foods so I'm not too worried about sodium. A little high quality finishing salt like Maldon goes a long way.0 -
I hate fish. I'll eat it...only b/c it's "good for you." I smother most of my fish in mustard to mask the taste. I have found that grilling the fish makes it much more palatable than baking it in the oven.0

If it takes up too much time/space, maybe cook up other meats in bulk so he can grab that and then eat whatever else you make as a side with your salmon0 -

Kraft has some Fresh Take cheese and breadcrumb mixes that you could probably use to coat the fish before baking. It is not cheesy at all. I usually put a little bit of salt and pepper on before rolling in the cheese/breadcrumb mix. Good with fish, chicken breasts, and pork chops.0

Lots of non-stick spray(or a light brush of oil), start skin side down. Five or 6 min, flip, 5 or 6 more min. Done.
Edit: Forgot to quote. This is how I grill salmon, whether marinated or not.0
