Today is the final day in week two of my initial 12 week plan. (to reach goal)
I go on a morning run every day with my labraodr Chiz.
He wakes me at 6:30 & trust me its easier to go for a run than to ignore him.
....anyway the walk / run started at about 3.5 ks. in distance and took about 24 mins( Including 1 dog poo stop.....lol.).
it includes a giant hill climb followed by a flat straight recovery walk .
Now the distance is up to 5 ks, (I added a few extra streets and an extra hill) and the flat distance after the hill climb is now a run.
Im getting fitter and feeling stronger.
Now to loose some weight and size!!

    Great work~
  • That's awesome! I find running (or runners, rather) so inspiring. I hope to be a runner someday.

My friend runs crazy distances and is always doing marathons. And she loves it!
  • I wish you continued success in your running. It is great challenge to get up earlier or stay up later to fit longer and longer runs into your daily routine. My runs went from two miles on the treadmill last winter to five miles in the spring. By early summer my outdoor runs hit 10 miles. Just before I ran the Sept 2010 Chicago Half Mary I did a 14 miler. Everyone was amazed as I never was a runner. Even now I think I am just a person
on who runs than a runner. It did wonders for my endurance. Love running during snow falls in yaktrax and in the morning summer rains...makes you feel so lucky you get to run. Keep challenging yourself.

Thanks Nat , its not easy putting a photo up when you look like I do.

I know what you mean by getting fitter and stronger, Ive looked at my distances from when I started and they have improved heaps.
My plan now is to regularly do 10kms and then get quicker. There is a fun run in July that I want to finish.

Its fun having a friend able to provide encouragement. thanks
  • You will kick goals by July. - thats 6 months away.
The worst trouble is it will be coming into winter & where I live that can be a problem (Gippsland)
It rains all the time here, I think outdoor running is completly different to treadmill.
But by then you'll be super fast.
    Nat. x
