Change my goals

I started here at MFP on tuesday and my calorie allowance is 1,620 with a goal of losing 2lbs a week,im looking to lose 125lbs in total and wanted to know from anyone if i should change my goals so that i can try and lose a little more than the 2lb they have recommended,it is a good thing to do or should i stay as i am??

I would stay as you are for now. It depends on how much you weigh at the beginning as you dont want to put your body into shock or what they call starvation mode.
Im not an expert but it is something I picked up. Apparantly you can change your calorie allowance when you have lost some.
For example, I am eating 1490 cals as I began at 252lbs, and have lost 12lbs in 22 days.
It is not always quick for some people, and it is a long process im afraid.
I also suppose the best way to look at it the same way as I do. I didnt get like this overnight, so why should I expect to lose overnight too!

I started at 300lbs and i guess your right we cant lose it overnight,its gonna take time but ive set goals and targets so i will see how they go.Thanks for your help. Sam.0
