low fat or no fat snack ideas......help!

I am filling out the food log regularly and seem to come up short on the calories each day, but over in the fat category. I need to come up with some foods that are nutritous and have some calories, but little or no fat. Any suggestions?

Fruit is an obvious one - high in natural sugars but not high in fat. Bananas are a bit more filling and have more calories than most other fruit.

For breakfast I have oats mixed with 0% fat Greek-style yoghurt and strawberries/blueberries. That could work as a snack (and has more calories than just eating the fruit on its own).

Popcorn made with little/no added fat.

It's fine to be over in fat, for the record.

Maybe some Greek yogurt with fruit.

What is your fat set at, out of curiosity?

I just had half a red pepper dipped in 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese. The cottage cheese has 1.5 grams of fat and 13 grams of protein. So awesome!

Do you eat full fat dairy? Perhaps there is one dairy item that you can go low fat or even non fat. I eat non fat greek yogurt which makes more fat grams available for full fat cheese and whole eggs.

Can you use leaner cuts of meat? That is another way to cut down a little.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with fat but if you want to stick close to your macros, these are a couple of ways to do it.

It doesn't really matter if you're over on your fat (as long as you're not over your calories!), fat is an essential! There isn't an optimal macro ratio, so going over doesn't matter all that much.

But for the snack ideas, fruit and vegetables are a good pick. As Myrtille87 said, bananas are filling as they aren't made up of water mainly (I think?). Things like oranges may not keep you full for long. Salads are low in calories and keep you satisfied until the next meal.
