MFP Goals

Hi there
This may be more of a technical question.
I have my goals set on MFP at wanting to loss 2lbs per week however, no matter what I put in it gives me a goal of 6lbs loss by 30th September at 1lb per week. Therefore I am unsure if my daily calorie intake is set for 2lbs a week or 1lb a week. I reckon this suggests 1lb per week.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Gemma

Penny, your profile shows that you only have 12 more pounds to lose. Two pounds a week is a little aggressive. It would be more realistic to set your goals at .5 to 1 lb a week.0

MFP will not recommend you eat under a certain amount of calories no matter what you want to lose. If 2 pounds a week puts you under that amount then MFP changes your goal for you. That or you are not entering it correct or the site is about to go into maintenance and that part is not responding right now. Most likely it is the calorie thing, because that has happened to me several times.0

This...MFP will only go as low as 1200 calories.
With only 12lbs to go 2lbs a week is agressive...that is a 1k a day deficit.
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal0 -
Oh...... I always set little goals and when I achieve these I change so actually I have about 3 stone to loose to get me into my healthy weight range however, I actually want to loose around 2-2.5 stone in total and only lost 5lbs so far.
I had set up a first goal and then I was going to change it once I reached it. That's likely why as it will be taking this into consideration.
I will go back and change it to the correct weight I want to get to in total.
Thanks again guys for your help.0
