What to have with my steak

I bought my first frying steak last that in ages, and I am trying to figure out what to do with it. It's mostly the side dish that has me stumped. Any ideas for something that is not processed or has very little processing?

potato, either cubed and grilled or baked. I would also suggest some broccoli made the way you like.

Maybe a good beer or glass of wine as well.

i made a NY strip on the grill last night...sadly my side was crappy Kraft Mac N Cheese for my kids and corn. Not the healthiest.

Had it been my choice, I'd have done it all on the grill with squash and roasted sweet potato. mmmm

I would top the steak with a little bit of crab meat, a bit of hollandaise sauce (you can make it from some egg and butter if you don't have a packet)... and put steamed asparagus on the side with a touch of salt and pepper. ... On a bed of spinach!

    Done.

White potatoes - either mashed with a bit of butter and cream or roasted with olive oil and herbs. Oh so good!
And green beans (whole or french cut)

kale, sauteed with a little garlic and a drizzle of balsamic...a glass of decent Cabernet couldn't hurt if you were into that kind of thing...

A little roasted asparagus with a spritz of fresh lemon, some Marsala wine sauce (just reduce in the steak pan while the steak rests and you've got a beautiful sauce), and a huge glass of bold red wine. That's just about my perfect meal.

    Spinach.

As a kid, anytime we had steak, we always had spinach to go with it. I like to add raw fries too.
