I had one of those wheat flat out pita breads and spread a tablespoon of red pepper hummus on. Measured out 2oz of sodium less boar's head turkey, a tomato slice, a leaf of lettuce and 4 or 5 cucumbers. Rolled it all up and ate.

It came to 468 calories and was delicious and filling.

Yum.

I should say I had two of these. So one would be 234 calories I think.

sounds yummy. flat-out wraps+hummus are one of my favorite lunches (or dinners!) i don't eat meat, but i load it with different kinds of veggies (and black olives, nomm), and goat cheese, if i have it around.

Never knew you could use hummus on sandwiches until very recently. I have been missing out!

This is what blew *my* mind: thin out some hummus with water and use it as salad dressing. Boom.

I should say I had two of these which is what made it almost 500 calories. But I skipped lunch so was super hungry. Lol

Excellent advice! I am a vinegar addict, so I thin out mine with Balsamic Vinegar. I hope you like it, too :)

    Nice!

I had half a cucumber (104g) while I cooked up 185g chicken breast and 222g broccoli with a little olive oil and garlic, then finished it with half a tbsp of soy sauce. Cheater chicken and broccoli.

I also had a 5.5oz can of low-sodium v8 as a chaser to 7g psyllium husk in water. Man, that stuff is weird!

415 cals for the whole shebang and I'll be full for HOURS!!

That sounds yummy. I had a flat out pizza. I used a honey wheat one. 2 tablespoons pizza sauce, 1/2 cup low fat motzerella, 12 copped up cherry tomatoes, baked, Spink led with fresh basil. 224 calories.

    I love flat out...

What brand of hummus do you use? Or do you make your own? I've never actually tried it

i've been pretty happy with most of the brands that i've tried - there's sabra, tribe (which i like better than sabra, personally), publix brand if you have one of those is pretty good too.

it'd be worth trying a store bought brand to give it a test run- but it's pretty easy to make yourself! the main standard ingredients that are used are chickpeas, tahini paste and olive oil... but that's pretty bland... the first time i made my own, i just used that and some lemon juice... boring! the spices are where its at! you can add

    garlic
    lemon juice
    salt and pepper
    pesto
    pine nuts
    pepper flakes
    chopped up olives
chopped up roasted peppers (even spicy jalepenos, nom!),
    sun dried tomatoes
    artichoke hearts
    chipotle spice

    so many choices!
