Excercise value of chopping firewood.

They always say wood warms you up twice - once when you chop it and once when you burn it.
Well today, I spent three hours chopping firewood. By hand, with a bowsaw and an axe. I will want to light the stove soon.
Can I count that as excercise? I was out of breath most of the time, and I feel it in my arms and shoulders now. Or is it possible to change your activity level from sedentary to active for a day?

Def exercise! Just because it was functional doesn't mean it wasn't a lot of exertion!0

Count it! I wore my HR monitor while I chopped wood a few weeks ago, used an axe for about an hour and burned 400+ calories!0
