Cheat Meals

Tonight I'm going to have my cheat meal and I can't wait! I'm going out for Mexican food with my family and I'm even going to indulge in a couple glasses of white wine. I'm aiming to hit my weight management calorie intake. I would say about 2000 calories? I've been eating under 1400 every day this week. It should be ok, right? Thought?

It's fine but I would still log it. Just be mindful of the high sodium amounts in resturant foods and don't freak out due to water weight gain.
Enjoy!0 -
I fail to see how eating to maintenance is cheating....also, if you exercise regularly your maintenance is likely more than 2000 calories.0

I don't like the word cheat as I don't deprive myself of anything ever. I eat smaller portions of things and make them fit in my caloric allotment. If you are eating at or below maintenance, it isn't considered "cheating".0

enjoy your cheat meal! dont log it though! just enjoy and dont worry about the calories for once0

Agreed with this! For me cheating is going over maintenance.
Definitely log though. Even when I go 1000 over, I log, so I have all the data available if I need to see why I didn't lose weight that month...0 -
I call it a cheat because I haven't quite gotten to the point where eating healthy is a habit. I'm still working on that. So I'm starting to moderate my unhealthy eating to one meal a week. I used to basically eat whatever I wanted on the weekends, but I realized that will probably cancel out all my good eating during the week. So I'm working on the overall lifestyle and I figured I could indulge in my favorite foods once in a while. I will still log the meal and try not to go totally overboard!
And I consider healthy eating to be eating clean, natural foods that give me energy. I don't believe eating with poor nutrition but still being under calories is OK. So that's why I call it "cheating."
Thanks for the input guys! I will definitely enjoy my Mexican food and wine!0 -
Ok I'll bite... what's unhealthy about Mexican food? Meat, veggies, beans, rice, cheese, I seriously fail to see what's unhealthy about that.0

If it's good Mexican food, something is fried.0
