healthy weight after back surgery?

I have completed pre-op for back surgery, now I'm just waiting for 'the call' to get it done. I am actually contemplating 2 options by 2 different surgeons: discectomy or spinal fusion at L5/S1...any advice, if you've gone through either would be appreciated! But mostly, I am concerned about returning to pursuit of whittling down the weight I've gained back since my injury 6 months ago, I'd love to hear some success stories and tips for my own success!

I had spinal fusion almost 7 years ago after an infection at the vertebrae in my lower back. It is possible to lose weight post surgery. Since running is too stressful for my injury, I walk for my exercise.0
