Food scale battery keeps dying fast

I've had the scale since May maybe? and I've already replaced the battery once, and now it's saying low battery!

It's Starfrit brand. 24 bucks. Should I just buy a different brand? Or maybe contact the store I bouhgt it at (or the company) and ask them wtf is going on?

It uses a lithium cell for power, has auto shut off, I use it daily... do scales just die THIS fast? because a pack of 2 batteries isn't that cheap.

    I would contact the manufacturer and ask what's up. I bought mine a super long time ago (I think at least four or five months ago), and my original battery still works. Seems weird that you battery would die so quickly.

    Mine is one of those Biggest Loser scales from Walmart, got it for around $28.

    I have a Taylor that only lasted 6 months with a "long life" battery. To me, it seems about right seeing as most new scales don't turn "off" and constantly have something showing. At least that's how mine is.

    My old scale was like that -- I needed to replace the lithium battery 3X a year, which just seems way too often for a lithium battery -- those things aren't cheap, and it can sometimes be hard to find the one you want. It was a good scale otherwise though.

    I ended up just buying a scale that I knew took AAAs so at least replacing them would be cheap.

    You probably should get another one. Mine is an Eat Right and I've had it for over a year and half (at least) and have only had to change the batteries once so far.

    I have an Escali Primo I bought from Amazon that uses regular AA batteries. The first set that came with it lasted 2 years.

    Thanks everyone! I'll look into buying a new scale probably, use this one as backup or something :p and i'll look for normal battery ones too!

    Is it lithium cell of AA/AAA? I had checked Target first (returned it, it was glitchy) and then bought this one at Canadian Tire. It has good ratings there though, either mine's a dud or they just don't use theirs mcuh haha. I'll check out Walmart!
