how often to eat

is eating every 2-4 hours fine? like the way i usually eat is breakfast and then within 2.. to 2 1/2 hours i'm hungry again so i'll have a snack, then within another 2-3 hours i'll have my 2nd meal/lunch, then another snack couple hours later, then dinner a few hours later. sometimes it varies of course, and i'll eat every 3-5 hours, and nibble here and there in between, i'm more of a nibbler on some days. really it just depends on my mood/what i'm doing and my appetite each day. it's fine to eat often right? is 2-3 hours often? seems like it

    I totally don't think it matters as long as your daily calories are at your target level.

    I go through periods where I prefer to snack every few hours rather than eat three normal meals. It's fine. The frequency or time at which you eat has no effect on your weight. Just count the calories

    I just try not to go more than 5 hours.

    I eat something small usually every 4 hours or so...a slice of toast, a granola bar, a piece of fruit, handful of nuts (insert obvious joke)

    I always do better snacking and I never miss a meal so every two hours is about right for me. The only time I don't snack is after dinner. Snacks are usually an apple or tree nuts. I have the mindset that regular eating keeps the metabolism level up.
  • If I'm hungry I eat a snack, if I'm not hungry I let the time pass. It just depends. I try not to eat big meals, because they always make me feel bloated. Every few hours works for some people. Just be sure to stay within your calorie range, and you are good to go.

    I only eat twice a day through circumstance and go anything up to 16 hours without food, think of it like a tank of fuel in a car, whether you fill it up in one go or drip feed it the car needs roughly the same amount of fuel to run
