Should I really be this upset?

I totally went off track for my weight loss! I'm so disapointed in myself for doing so. I woke up this morning found out I had already lost 2 lbs and I guess my mind decided I had to gain it back! I snuck pizza tonight and then ate a HUGE Taco Salad just without the taco part. It tasted good for the amount of time I had it but now I just feel sick to my stomach because I shouldn't have eaten it! Plus I didn't really exercise today I just walked up to the corner store and back whoopity doo! I'm just soo mad at myself....
Should I really be this upset with myself? Or should I just realize its going to be hard the first couple of weeks? Especially with the way my food addiction goes?!

don't be so hard on yourself. know that tomorrow you don't want to feel this guilt and keep your eating on point. That's all. Nothing more nothing less. You are not the only person to have a bad eating day so learn from what made you do it.0

if you're still at or under your caloric goals then eating crap food once in a while isn't a big deal for your weight loss, though you'd be healthier eating more nutritional items ) taco salad without the shell isn't bad... lettuce, salsa, beef (lean), cheese (low fat), etc. & pizza is about 200 calories a slice from a pizzeria (chains like dominos and pizza hut usually are much higher in calories) good luck!0

I think you would have to consume about 7000 calories to gain 2 pounds....my theory is if you have a rough day just get back on track asap..there is no time like the present. Maybe you still have time in your day to get active..work out/go for a walk/lift some weights/do a exercise dvd/hit the treadmill..you'll probably feel better!0

It takes time (at least 3 weeks) to adopt a new habit. It can take even longer to no longer feel the urges when getting rid of an old habit. You WILL make mistakes, you WILL have bad days. When that happens, recognize why it happened, find ways to avoid those triggers, and then refocus and move on.
Don't let one (or 20) bad choices negate all the good ones you have made and will make. Stay strong!0 -
Don't beat yourself up! The first couple of weeks are hard.......man, I'm in my 5th month, and it's STILL hard at times.
Just get right back on board at the VERY NEXT MEAL and keep going! You can do this!0 -
Our bodies naturally want to try to keep the fat it has, we evolved in a very harsh landscape, and the extra fat was insurance that we wouldn't automatically die if we didn't manage to eat daily, so whenever we lose weight our bodies panic and make you feel extra hungry so you'll gain it back.
I go through the same thing, yesterday I ate a bunch of random candy and couldn't work out because my knee was acting like it wanted to explode. But I've realised from a many years of trying to lose weight (around 9 years) that the best thing is to just say, "yeah I fell off the wagon today, but tomorrow I'm going to control myself and lose the weight I want" and then after you say it, you do it0 -
Forgive yourself and move on. Keep in mind that this is a lifestyle change and there will be days when you are gonna go off your program. Everyone of us has done and will do it again. Sometimes we plan to because of a special celebration or a holiday and other times we just fall off the wagon. So just pick yourself up and move forward, good luck you can do this!0

When you mess up it's important to recognize why and get back to being on key right away. It takes time to mentally adjust to eating and living differently.
Now as far as the feelings go (I know I'm going against the grain here just a little...but.. I do think that being mad at one's self has merit. When I mess up (and we all do) I don't let myself off the hook to easily. I let myself stew for a while, that way I don't so easily make the same mistake. I ask myself tough questions and demand of myself to really think and look at my actions. It sucks and it's hard and I DON'T like it!!! It really makes me think about it next time I want to mess up.
It's ok to stew and be mad at yourself because you set a goal and then made the decision that countered it - but just for a day.
So what you gonna do tomorrow? Forgive and love yourself and keep your eye on the prize!!!
