Off day, or something else?

Every Sunday morning, I go to a Body Balance class and then go work out in the gym afterwards - it's my favourite time of the week to be working out, coz I feel great after the Body Balance class which is really relaxing.
This week, I've had a very stressful week, skipped the gym on Friday due to my grandma's op - I was stressed enough about it to have symptoms like eczema on my face, which hasn't happened in a long time. Thankfully the op went way better than even the doctors expected so I'm able to relax a bit now.
So this morning I got up, went to my Body Balance class as normal... it took me longer than usual to walk to the gym, my legs ached by the time I got there (a 10min walk!). During the class, I was sweating really excessively, to the point where my top lip was wet, and I struggled with moves I don't normally struggle with. In plank position, I was shaking with the effort within about three seconds. Decided against going to the gym afterwards... I actually felt a bit dizzy walking home and now that I'm home I just feel drained. I don't understand... it's really not a strenuous class!! I did a bodyweight workout yesterday, which I did two sets instead of the three I've been aiming for but I could have probably done the three, I just got distracted.
So what's different today? Do you think it's a reaction to the stress, or a mineral deficiency - or am I just coming down with the flu or something? I felt fine before I left the house, although I slept a little later than usual. I'm just feeling a bit confused and disappointed. :frown:

It's probably the stress. Have you been sleeping and/or eating poorly due to the stress? Those things can all go hand in hand to make a tough workout. On the plus side--you did it! You still did the workout. That's a good thing so I'd just focus on that, maybe take a nap if possible today, try to relax a bit, and keep on keeping on.
I hope your grandma is doing well, btw.0 -
Hi there,
I am brand spankin' new to weight training (4 weeks now), so I'm by no means an expert, but someone sent me this the other day when the topic of taking breaks came up and I didn't know why it was important to do so regularly. Anyway, I thought it might be of interest to you: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/zaino4.htm

Sounds more mental than physical to me.0

It's very common for people to have a delayed reaction to stress. I'm sure it's something like that. It can show up in many different ways. It seems that, for you, it showed up a couple days later in the form of weakness/tiredness. I think you did the right thing by pushing yourself a bit with the one class, but also listening to your body and not pushing it too far. You found a good balance.
I'd suggest that you try to continue with your normal workout schedule as much as possible, but it might take a few days to get all the way back to normal. So also continue to listen to the cues your body is giving you.0 -
Might be your body is sick or something. Do you take daily vitamins to keep your body have basic nutrition?0
